“There is one thing a photograph must contain - the humanity of the moment.”

I believe that the best photos of you are the ones that are:

Genuine

My approach is to foster a sense of comfortability and trust so that you can open up and be yourself, showcasing your love in full effect and without pretense. Building an authentic relationship between photographer and subject is also an important part of that process, so you can expect our sessions to feel personable and be filled with many bad jokes and/or interpretive dance.

Intimate

Intimacy is something we all seek in various forms, because being (or even just feeling) close to another person is a high you can’t replicate. But intimacy is a very private act, so trying to show it and be vulnerable in front of someone else (like a photographer!) is complex and can be difficult, especially on the spot. I encourage folks to be patient as we build comfortability throughout a session, because something magical happens when we’re all in the zone and just taking the moment in together - it’s the special sauce for the work I aim to create!

Spontaneous

Let’s be real, being photographed is awkward and even professional models can find it challenging. Because of this, the atmosphere I like to create for folks is one that encourages natural behavior and movement, rather than too much posing or staged action. There may be particular shots or dynamics we want to document along the way, of course, but ultimately what I aim to do is breathe life into still imagery by capturing the energy and motion of real interactions.

Yep, that’s me at my wedding!

And I want you to see it because it’s the reason I decided to become a wedding photographer.

When I saw this in my album, I was totally taken by the honesty and emotion of that moment - and every time I look at it I feel how I felt then. I want that for you!

Here I am holding a camera, to demonstrate my ability to hold a camera without dropping it.

Is this thing on?! (yes this is but a taste of my elevated humor; prepare to be dazzled)
